The first models of the " Domino " travel clock carved out of exotic wood appeared in the 1950's. Similar to pocket watches, the "Domino" clocks were protected by a carved wooden envelope which combined with their small size, enabled their function as a travel clock. When closed, the sliding lid gives the appearance of a domino and of course to touch wood is said to bring luck. At first the design had a mechanical movement, however the dimensions of the clock were modified in the 1970's to fit a quartz movement. Although the original dials remained simple, several other versions were created, such as the mother-of-pearl dial used in this "Domino" clock that we have on offer. 

The Clock is in great condition and the quartz movement is working flawlessly. It comes with its original Van Cleef & Arpel box, certificate, and carrying pouch.
