The Carrera remains one of the most iconic vintage chronograph watch for its simplicity and minimalist approach to dial design. It truly has all the hallmarks of Jack Heuer’s design philosophy of prioritizing legibility. First introduced in 1963, the case has strong, angled lugs and the narrow bezel maximizes space for the dial. The pushers and crown extend just enough to not be in the way of the wearer. This example exhibits just the right amount of luxury with the gold-plated case and a beautiful silvered dial with three registers (there is a black dial version of the gold-plated case as well). This watch brings a touch of dress watch elegance to a classic sport model. And then off course we have the movement. This vintage Carrera is powered by the famous Valjoux 72 — arguably the finest manual-wind chronograph ever which also powered vintage Rolex Daytona's.

Overall, this Carrera is in excellent vintage condition. The gold plated case is in great shape with some light wear as is common for a Heuer from this age . Though most likely polished in the past, it retains its  beautifu bevels. The crown and pushers appear to be original to the watch. The dial is overall clean despite its age and has no blemishes (see macro photos for details). The text on the dial is also still crisp. The handset appears to be original with attractive aging. The crystal has no scratches. The legendary Valjoux 72 movement is in outstanding condition with the Heuer Leonidas engraving on the movement very crisp. The movement service history is unknown but our watch maker has checked and confirmed it is in good working condition. The movement is currently running at -173 seconds/day. The chronograph function is working flawlessly as well.
