The Oyster Perpetual, a paragon of Rolex horological excellence, remains an enduring favorite among both novices and seasoned collectors alike. In this instance, we showcase a timeless classic boasting a 34mm stainless steel case, with its beautiful blue brick dial elevating the watch's intrinsic charm.
Renowned for its versatility, legibility, and robustness, this Oyster Perpetual seamlessly transitions from daily wear to formal affairs with unparalleled grace. The absence of a date complication in the dial configuration preserves the watch's uncluttered design, embodying a timeless aesthetic.
A defining feature is the engine-turned bezel, a subtle yet impactful embellishment that bestows character upon the timepiece without disrupting its inherently clean lines. Despite its more than 50-year tenure, this Rolex Oyster Perpetual stands as a testament to enduring design, looking as resplendent today as it did when it was produced in 1969.
This time-only Rolex Oyster Perpetual ref 1007 from 1969 is in overall great condition. The case is strong with minor scratches throughout but in good condition for its age. The case has been polished in the past but still retains its attractive edges and original lines. The original blue brick dial is in beautiful shape with no blemishes or discoloration. The lume plots are all full and developed a nice cream colored patina. The original hands show aging with the lume worn off. The riveted Oyster bracelet continues to prove that it is one of the most comfortable bracelets. It is in great condition for its age and has just minor stretch. The bracelet is marked "7205" and the end-links are marked "60" which is correct for this model. The numbers between both sets of lugs are clearly visible. The case, dial, movement, crown, and bracelet are all signed by Rolex.
The movement was serviced in October 2022 by the previous owner and is currently running at +6.8 second/day at the upright position.
