Originally introduced in 1945, the Rolex Air King is one of Rolex' oldest models still in production today. Its 34mm case size was considered large at the time, hence the “King” moniker. Rolex released the Air King reference 114200 in 2007. Watch enthusiasts were surprised to see the Air-King move into a more modern era – one that embraced a more contemporary feel and bolder features. While the ref. 114200 still boasted a 34mm case, it was bulked up with wider lugs and an overall larger appearance on the wrist. The dial was also a big change, as you could now choose from an even wider selection of colors – for the first time, you could even choose a fancy 18k white gold fluted bezel. Another first was the new, redesigned 904L Oyster bracelet and clasp with completely solid links. The ref. 114200 still boasted the cal. 3130 but this time, it was finally COSC-certified, bringing the Air-King right in line with the rest of Rolex’s collection. In 2015, at Basel World, Rolex released a new line up of the 114200 and people were surprised to see that Rolex had decided to remove the Air King text from the dial. Besides the text being removed, the new 114200 had the exact same technical specs as the previous version hence many collectors still referred to it as the Air King. 

This time-only Oyster Perpetual Air King ref 114200 from 2019 is in overall near mint condition. The case is strong with no dings or scratches. It has never been polished in the past. The bracelet has some surface scratches from day to day wear. The watch has a silver dial with Explore-esque applied 3 6 9 numerals and thick applied baton hour markers. It comes as a full set accompanied by its Rolex inner box, hang tag, card case, International guarantee card, instruction manual, and service manual. The movement is currently running well at -5.8 second/day at the upright position.
