Since Rolex introduced the Datejust in 1945, it has remained the go to dress watch that successful people aspire to own one day. The reference 1601 with its white gold fluted bezel, steel Oyster case, and Oyster bracelet is arguably one of the most popular and desirable vintage Datejust's for its simple yet elegant appearance and versatility. When paired with a clean blue dial like this example, the result is a classic Rolex for any occasion that will never go out of style.
This 1601 Datejust is in overall great condition. The case is strong with just some light nicks and scratches. The blue dial is in clean condition and contrasts nicely with the white gold fluted bezel. The dial has some aging and discoloration around the upper left edge only noticeable up close with a loupe. The lume on the dial and on the hands have developed patina and are matching in color. The folded Jubilee continues to prove that it is one of the most comfortable bracelets ever. The Jubilee bracelet is fitted with solid links and has some stretch. The bracelet is marked "62150H" and the end-links are marked "555." The case back has a tiny discoloration as can be seen from the picture. The numbers between both sets of lugs are clearly visible. The case, dial, movement, crown, and bracelet are all signed by Rolex.
The movement was serviced back in March 2020 and is currently running within vintage watch standards.
