The Gondolo collection was named after the famous retailer in Rio de Janeiro, Gondolo & Labouriau, with whom Patek Philippe enjoyed a strong and successful business relationship between 1872 and 1927. Crafted exclusively for the discerning clientele of Brazil, the “Chronometro Gondolo” pocket watches emerged, bearing the hallmark of precision and luxury synonymous with Patek Philippe. Fast forward to 1993, and the modern incarnation of the Gondolo collection emerges and it is here where enthusiasts are treated to Patek's "form" watches, a striking departure from the traditional round case shape. Inspired by the opulence of the Art Deco, these timepieces boast angularity and sophistication, with rectangular and tonneau-shaped cases that evoke a sense of timeless elegance. Although the Gondolo collection is expansive, several models stand out to collectors and enthusiasts. For example, two Gondolo watches, references 4824 and 4825, are gorgeous pieces that later influenced the design of Patek’s iconic Twenty~4 collection that launched in 1999. 

This ref. 4824G is in overall very good vintage condition. We are proud to offer this Gondolo as a full set from the original owner in Japan. The case is strong and although it has some minor scratches due to wear, it is unpolished. The caseback shows its original brushed finishing with all the hallmarks in crisp shape. The white porcelain dial is overall clean with no blemishes. The handset is in excellent condition too. The dial, case, caseback, crown, and movement are all signed by Patek Philippe. The movement is the quartz caliber E-15 and a new battery was installed last year. The watch comes with a 3 month movement warranty from us. The watch comes with its original Patek Philippe signed white gold buckle as well with its original brown alligator strap (worn condition). It also comes as a full set from the original owner with its certificate of origin, papers, and inner/outer box.
