IWC has been a mainstay in the Japanese collector community for years and we are proud to offer a very well looked after steel vintage IWC that just might be the perfect dress watch. The 35mm case measurement may seem small by today’s standards, but the proportions between the case and dial and everything in between are perfectly calibrated. The simple steel baton indexes and  hands gently accent the watch with the center-seconds capturing the eye of the wearer. The watch is fitted with IWC’s respected caliber 89, which was constructed to be a workhorse movement with simplicity, reliability, and robust performance in mind. In production from 1946 to 1979, IWC started using this movement in with the IWC Mark XI models commissioned by the British Ministry of Defense. With decades of solid performance and success of this caliber, IWC went on to create several movements based on this caliber, including the Calibre 5000 and the Calibre 89000 family, whose name obviously is a direct homage to the legendary three-hander.

This vintage IWS is in overall great, honest condition. The case appears to be slightly polished in the past but retains a nice edge. It has some light scratches from wear. The silver dial is in great condition with the hands and hour markers showing some wear, but in overall good condition. The original crown is signed with the IWC fish symbol signifying that it's waterproof. The caseback is in great condition with the inner engravings clearly visible along with its case serial number. The manual wind caliber 89 has just been serviced in January 2021 and is currently running at +10.6 seconds/day.
