The Grand Seiko SBGW 253 was released in 2017 and is a reissue of the First Grand Seiko that was originally produced by Suwa Seikosha in 1960. It was made in a limited edition of 1960 pieces. This particular reissue features a larger 38mm case which in our view is the perfect size for a modern Grand Seiko.  Despite the larger size, the 38mm stainless steel case is still perfectly proportionate and faithful to the original GS1st. From its beveled lugs, raised Grand Seiko logo on the dial, "S" marked crown and the engraved gold lion medallion on the case back, the vintage inspired SBGW253 is executed perfectly. The polar white dial, blue steeled hands, and the modern Grand Seiko caliber 9S64 is a welcome upgrade from the original GS1st. All in all, the SBGW253 is a simple time only watch executed to perfection.

This Grand Seiko SBGW253 is in overall great condition. It is unpolished and is in near mint condition as the original owner rarely wore this watch. The watch was originally purchased in Ginza Wako and comes as a full set with its inner and outer boxes, certificate of guarantee and time testing certificate. It is in full working order and the watch is currently running at +4.2 seconds/day.
