Offered here is a fully original Grand Seiko 6146-8000 in stainless steel, featuring the rare and desirable crosshair dial variant. This model showcases the iconic “Grammar of Design” case architecture pioneered in the earlier 44GS, with its bold lines and distinctive angular profile. While most 6146-8000 models feature a standard eggshell white dial, this version stands out with a subtle grey sunburst finish and a beautiful crosshair layout—making it especially sought after by collectors of vintage Grand Seiko.
This watch is in great vintage condition. The case shows light wear and may have been lightly polished in the past, but it retains sharp edges and the defining lines of the original Tanaka design language case. The grey crosshair dial is well-preserved, clean, and free from major blemishes. The original hands and signed crown show minor signs of aging but remain in good condition. On the reverse, the original case back and gold medallion are intact and crisp—though a small crack is visible on the upper left of the medallion, as shown in the photos.
The watch was recently serviced in June 2025 and is performing very well, running at +2.2 seconds per day—consistent with what one would expect from a high-beat Grand Seiko movement. Some rust was previously present on the rotor, which has been removed; the marks that remain have no effect on the watch’s performance. So that you can preserve the original gold medallion, a clear case back has been fitted. The watch comes with a generic black saffiano strap.
