The Cartier Tank at its very best. This is the Tank Louis Cartier "extra flat" powered by the Frederique Piguet caliber 21 featuring a drop dead gorgeous 18k yellow gold tear drop bracelet. It is believed that there were two different yellow gold bracelets that customers could order when this Tank Louis extra flat was in Cartier's line up during the 1990's. The "beads of rice" yellow gold bracelet is the more common of the two but is still relatively hard to find out in the wild. The other variant is this yellow gold "tear drop" bracelet which is believed to have been available only to the most loyal and important Cartier clients. Needless to say these bracelets are extremely rare and have appeared only a handful of times in the market - mostly at auction.

Although the bracelet might steal the spotlight, the watch itself is legendary in itself. The Tank Louis extra flat comes in a 18k gold case that measures 30 x 23.5mm- a modern and sensible size. It's powered by the extremely thin Frederique Piguet caliber 21. This Tank Louis has all the essential Cartier details you want from a classic tank - black Roman numerals on a crisp white guilloche dial, a blue sapphire cabochon on the crown, and blued steel sword hands.

Overall, this piece is in outstanding condition. The watch and movement underwent a full servicing by Cartier in May 2022. As part of the service, the 18k gold case and bracelet underwent very light polishing. The case retains its original beautiful lines. The guilloche dial is clean overall with no blemishes or discoloration. The bracelet currently fits a wrist size of 18.5cm. The bracelet can be adjusted by a local Cartier boutique to fit a smaller wrist size. The watch also comes with extra links and can fit up to a wrist size of 19cm.
