This is a very special example of the Cartier Santos-Dumont "Ultra thin" with its original Paris dial dated to the 1970's. The case measures 36mm by 27mm, height by width. The most notable feature of this Santos Dumont is the 4.3mm thickness, about 2mm thinner than the standard Santos, thanks, in part, to the Cartier signed Fred Piguet caliber 21 "ultra-thin" movement inside. The 18k gold case has developed an attractive patina due to oxidization- a pleasing feature of a vintage Cartier.

This Santos-Dumont is in overall great vintage condition. The case is strong and has light scratches throughout as can be expected from a watch of this age. Throughout the case there is tarnishing on the 18k gold case. The oxidation is especially prevalent on the top side of the case above the bezel (as can be seen from the pictures). The bevels on the case are clearly present on the sides of the case and the bezel is in excellent condition with very few scratches. The original "Paris" signed dial is in overall great condition with no visible blemishes or discoloration. The Paris dial is very rare given most dials get replaced by Cartier during servicing to a "Swiss only" or "Swiss made" dial. As with the vast majority of Cartier white lacquered dials produced in the 70's and 80's, the dial has formed minor cracks but nothing major and is only visible at an angle. The original black painted numerals is in beautiful condition. The Piguet caliber 21 movement has been checked by our watchmaker and is currently running well at -16.2 seconds per day.

The watch comes with a black calf strap from Accurate Form and a gold plated Cartier pin buckle. The watch also comes with its Cartier outer/inner box, booklet, papers, and lifetime guarantee card. The life time guarantee card is signed by the retailer and is also signed with a matching serial number of the watch. The life time guarantee card is valid (forever) and one can use this card at any Cartier boutique for a free movement service by Cartier (note though that Cartier will replace the original dial if one chooses to service using Cartier).
