The Pasha de Cartier watch has a mysterious origin that might never be fully known. The story revolves around the Pasha of Marrakesh, who ruled Morocco for over 40 years. Legend has it that in the early 1930s, the Pasha asked Louis Cartier to create a unique watch that was both elegant for formal occasions and waterproof for swimming. This challenge resulted in the creation of the Pasha de Cartier, a masterpiece of both style and function.
This limited edition Pasha was released to commemorate the reopening of the Cartier Milan boutique. It is numbered and only 25 pieces was made, making it an extremely rare Pasha. It's a dream watch for Pasha collectors for several reasons. First, its guilloche dial at 12 o'clock is marked with the letter M, symbolizing its connection to the Milan boutique. Second, it's crafted from white gold, a rarity among Pasha models, but based on our research, the only chronograph Pasha to be made in white gold. Third, unlike other Pasha chronographs, this one features a tachymeter on its white gold bezel instead of a rotating bezel, again a unique design choice specific to this model. Lastly, while many Pasha watches have sapphire cabochons, this one stands out with an onyx stone cabochon, adding a distinctive touch to an already remarkable timepiece.
This Pasha chronograph ref. 2547 is in excellent condition. It was recently serviced by Cartier Japan in May 2024 and comes with its service papers. The white gold case has been lightly polished but retains its clean edges and thick Art Deco styled 'Vendome' lugs. It comes with a see through case back where one can enjoy the beautiful chronograph caliber 205. It comes with a black Cartier leather strap and its original white gold deployant buckle. The watch comes with its original box along with a Pasha procedure manual but it missing its guarantee and the limited edition booklet.
