This watch needs no introduction. Inspired by the Renault tanks that the French jeweler saw in battle on the Western Front during the first World War, the Tank has been the foundation of Cartier since 1917. This example is the Tank released as part of the Must de Cartier line that the French maison first introduced in 1977. The watch paid tribute to the original Tank Louis Cartier and was launched in more than a dozen different dial options like dark black, red and even a striped pattern, or three shades of gold. This example we have on offer is a Must Tank featuring blue Roman numerals with a white dial in excellent condition. This Must Tank is the LM (large size) which was marketed specifically for men's.

Overall this Cartier Must Tank is in great vintage condition. The silver vermeil case shows honest wear with some scratches. The hallmarks and serial numbers remain sharp and well-defined on both the case and caseback. The original white dial is clean, free of blemishes, and features crisp painted blue Roman numerals. The original blued steel hands and blue spinel cabochon are also in excellent condition. A new battery was installed in January 2026 on the Cartier quartz movement. This watch comes with a beautiful blue alligator Cartier leather strap along with its original steep deployant clasp from Cartier. It comes as a full set with its original box, certificate of guarantee, and booklet.
