The Cartier Cloche was produced initially in the 1920s, as a jewelry watch. Other than the bell-shaped case ("cloche" means bell), one of the characteristics of the Cloche is the rotation of the dial 90º from its usual position, so that the XII is adjacent to the crown. With this configuration, when one stands the Cloche on a flat surface, it could be used like a desk clock.
The Cloche became a wristwatch for the first time in 1921 and subsequently appeared sporadically throughout the years. This watch we have on offer is from the CPCP collection from 2007, in yellow gold, in a limited edition of 100 watches. The most recent version of the Cloche was introduced this year in 2021 as part of the Cartier Privé Collection.
Overall, this Cloche is in outstanding condition. The case has some surface scratches but is in beautiful, unpolished shape and retains its original edge and curves. The dial is also flawless. The watch comes with a black leather Cartier strap as well as its original yellow gold Cartier stamped deployant clasp. It was serviced early 2021 and is in fully working order. The watch comes with its CPCP red leather mahogany box, a CPCP loupe, and the loupe wooden box.
This watch comes with a 6 month movement warrantee from us.
