The Cartier "Tank Basculante" was launched in 1932 one year after JLC introduced the Reverso. Both the Reverso and Basculante were produced by Spécialités Horlogères SA, a subsidiary of JLC. Paying tribute to the original model from the 1930’s, this particular Basculante, the reference 2390, was produced around the late 1990's and stood out amongst the other Basculant's at the time due to its substantial XL size and the high quality mechanical cailber 050MC that powered the time piece. This Frederique Piguet based movement is only 2mm thick that allows for a ultra thin 5.8mm case profile. Under the sapphire crystal of this special Basculante is an attractive guilloche pattern design with painted numerals, inner minute track, and blued steel hands.

This Reference 2390 Tank Basculante is in fanstastic condition. It underwent a full service by Cartier in November 2021 and comes with the service papers from Richemont Japan. The movement is currently running at an excellent 3.8 seconds/day in the upright position. This watch comes with a grey Delugs epsom strap and the original steel Cartier tang buckle and Cartier box.
