Audemars Piguet might be best-known today for its sporty icon, the Royal Oak but AP also made very stylish / ultra-thin dress watches throughout the 1960s and 1970s.

Here, we have a seemingly straightforward dress watch from that era that represented quite a feat for its time. The white gold case measures a mere 7mm in height, and it was designed to fit an even thinner manual-wound movement inside, the historic caliber 2001. Audemars Piguet shared this ultra-thin movement with Jaeger-LeCoultre (caliber 818) and Vacheron Constantin (caliber 1001). The dial is very minimalist, featuring a mesmerizing blue dial with a brush finish that changes colors depending on the light condition. The dial is further fitted with svelte applied hour marker, hand set, and a simple brand signature at the top of the dial, Audemars Piguet Geneve, and the "SWISS" indication at six o'clock.

Overall this vintage AP dress watch cased in white gold is in great vintage condition. The case is strong and retains its beautiful lines. It has some minor scratches which is expected for a watch this age. The lugs are sharp and is in excellent condition. The original blue dial is in overall clean condition for its age. There are some discoloration and blemishing on the original dial along the lower edge of the dial (visible on the pictures). The hand set and applied index on the dial show aging with some signs of oxidation on both. The crystal is clean with no scratches.

The watch comes with its original white gold buckle which has the AP hallmark and engravings signifying the use of gold. It is in fantastic shape with the beautiful AP hall mark in crisp shape. The ultra thin caliber 2001 on this watch was serviced on February 2023 and is currently running at +6.7  seconds / day. The watch comes with a leather AP service box. The watch further comes with a blue alligator strap.
