The Cartier Calandre is a rare and highly collectible time piece, seldom encountered on the market. It stands out with its elegant 18mm equestrian-inspired “stirrup” case, crafted in 18K yellow gold, featuring soft, flowing curves, an acrylic crystal, a cabochon-set crown, a smooth bezel, and distinctive perpendicular top lugs. Despite its unconventional silhouette, it remains unmistakably Cartier—showcasing a white textured dial with black printed numerals, a classic chemin de fer minute track, and blued steel sword-shaped hands. While often confused with the Cartier Cloche, the Calandre is a separate and unique design, sharing only a superficial resemblance.
This particular example is especially desirable among reference 66032 models for several reasons. First, it features black printed Arabic numerals, which are far less common than the Roman numerals typically found on this reference. Second, the yellow gold case is adorned with diamonds, reflecting Cartier’s heritage as a master jeweler. Finally, it is paired with a striking 18K yellow gold multi-link “grain de riz” bracelet, complete with a Cartier-signed deployant clasp and fully intact hallmarks. Altogether, this is a rare and distinctive Calandre that would bring depth to any serious collection.
In terms of condition, the watch remains in excellent vintage condition. The case shows light surface wear, retaining strong definition with crisp engravings and hallmarks. The original diamonds are all well-preserved. The ivory white textured dial is overall clean, though there is a small area of damage and a minor scratch beneath the Cartier signature, as shown in the photos. Service records show that the owner chose to preserve the original dial rather than replace it—a decision we applaud, as original dials are all too often unnecessarily swapped out.
The original 18K yellow gold “grain de riz” bracelet is also in excellent condition, with sharp hallmarks. The watch is powered by a quartz movement, which was fully serviced in 2020 by Cartier, with a new battery installed in 2026. The bracelet is sized to fit approximately a 14.5 cm wrist. The watch is offered with a Cartier box and accompanying service papers from Cartier Tokyo (dated 2020, with matching serial numbers). These records confirm that the acrylic crystal and hands were replaced during service, alongside a full overhaul of the movement.
